Construction Assistant Builder
About The Role
As an Assistant Builder, you’ll be responsible for supporting the quality construction of our customers’ homes. You will assist in the entire home building process, while undergoing the training necessary to progress into a Construction Builder position. You'll apply your experience and that of a designated Construction Builder to adhere to company construction standards and will provide attentive, fair, and courteous service to address customer concerns and maintain customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Focus on the training and supervision of trade partners using job schedules and trade scopes of work.
- Oversee the construction, inspection, and scheduling of the entire home to ensure timely completion within the allotted cycle time.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds quality standards.
- Strive to deliver a "Zero Punch List" home by actively participating in the finishing stages of the home, correcting and fine-tuning it to meet our quality standards.
- Maintain the community appearance, showcase homes, models, and sales center.
- Communicate effectively with a Construction Builder, Sales Manager, Trade base, and Home Owners.
- Provide trade partner feedback to your supervisor regarding their performance.
- Approve trade partner POs upon satisfactory completion of work and validate all material deliveries for quantity and condition.
- Walk assigned homes twice a day at a minimum.
- Ensure job site cleanliness, safety, and SWPPP compliance as required by state and federal guidelines and company policy.
- Attend construction meetings and training classes as scheduled.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in using phone applications, word processing, and Excel.
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
- Valid auto insurance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college education preferred.
- Construction and/or customer relations experience is a plus.
