Construction Asset Manager

This role manages a portfolio of residential renovation projects across multiple U.S. markets while operating remotely. The Construction Asset Manager engages projects early in the acquisition and pre-construction process, partnering with Acquisition, Asset Management, and Construction teams to validate renovation strategy, identify execution risks, establish realistic schedules, and drive successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Participate immediately following property acquisition to support project planning and execution.
  • Review renovation scopes, budgets, contractor bids, and anticipated returns with Acquisition and Asset Management teams.
  • Identify permitting, scheduling, and construction risks before work begins.
  • Establish baseline schedules and milestone expectations that support company velocity goals.
  • Manage a portfolio of residential renovation projects across multiple markets.
  • Monitor project milestones daily and proactively resolve schedule delays.
  • Drive contractor accountability for quality, budget, and timeline performance.
  • Coordinate inspections, utilities, permitting, material procurement, and closeout.
  • Use project management systems to monitor portfolio health and production metrics.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize renovation scope and investment decisions.
  • Recommend value engineering opportunities and reduce holding costs.
  • Ensure homes are disposition-ready and aligned with company standards.
  • Provide accurate weekly portfolio reporting and KPI updates.
  • Continuously improve project velocity, cycle times, and operational processes.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of residential construction project management experience.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent renovation projects across dispersed markets preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, contractor management, and residential construction.
  • Experience with Procore, Buildertrend, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Key Performance Expectations

  • Meet company renovation cycle-time and velocity goals.
  • Deliver projects within approved budgets.
  • Reduce project aging and holding costs.
  • Maintain high contractor on-time completion rates.
  • Provide accurate weekly portfolio reporting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle, touch or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee is rarely required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay

$80,000 to $95,000 with an annual bonus.

Schedule

This role can be 100% remote anywhere in the U.S.
