Construction Accounting Manager

Overall Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day activities of the Project Accounting team, ensuring that all accounting standard operating procedures, principles and Company policies are followed with an emphasis on best practices and sound internal controls.
• Department Oversight: Oversee the development, training, and performance of the Accounting team to ensure work is performed in an efficient, timely, accurate and knowledgeable manner.
• Assist in development and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, recommending changes.
• Aid in financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost accounting, general ledger, payroll, and cash flow management.
• Provide input on strategic planning initiatives with suggested approaches to short-term and long-term growth strategies.
• Conduct periodic reviews for Accounts Payable compliance.
• Ensure that the Project Accountants and their PMs are meeting on a regular basis to produce accurate and timely CTC reports.

Project Accounting

• Ensure monthly owner requisitions are entered and audited in CMiC/ Procore.
• Analyze owner change orders, back charges, award process in Procore/CMiC.
• Analyze commitments and subcontract change orders processes from Procore into CMiC.
• Analyze monthly Procore cost to complete reports.
• Prepare direct cost entries, as needed.
• Aid in strategic planning/forecasting of project financials.
• Conduct periodic reviews for Accounts Payable compliance.

General Accounting

• Administer 3rd party payroll and corporate credit card/expense management software.
• Oversee CMiC/Procore systems integrity by managing all accounting issues, processing problems and reporting requests.
• Aid in the set up and processing of vendors and contractors.
• Monthly WIP Preparation and review.
• Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Participate in external insurance and state audits.
• Participate in financial statement audits.
• Oversee and maintain multi-state business licenses.
• Complete special projects as needed.

Required Education and Experience

• Construction industry experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of Project Accounting experience with some leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Excel required.
• Experience with Sage and Procore preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills required.
• Able to manage in a fast-paced environment and exercise discretion and independent judgment.

Work Conditions

• Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.
• Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
• Hours: This is a full-time, in-office, salaried position.

Pay Range

$110,000 - $130,000 per year
