About the role
The volunteer coordinator enjoys connecting with people and finding ways to match their interests with the museum's needs. This role is crucial for keeping the museum's programs active and funded.
Responsibilities
- Create and update volunteer advertisements for social media and other outreach
- Interview volunteer applicants and select appropriate assignments
- Maintain basic volunteer records, such as contact information
- Recruit for specific organization needs as they arise
- Communicate regularly with volunteers to share appreciation and support their satisfaction
- Report any conflicts or concerns
- Advise the Board of Directors on annual volunteer appreciation efforts
Requirements
- Flexible time commitment of 6-12 months, 1-6 hours per week
- Ability to work both in-person at DuPont Historical Museum and remotely
- Pass a background check
- Attend orientation
