Our client is an established law firm with a strong reputation for operational excellence and a well-resourced, professionally run business services team. The firm places a high priority on ethical compliance and risk management, maintaining a dedicated conflicts function that supports lateral hiring, new business intake, and ongoing matter management across the firm. It invests seriously in its staff, offering one of the more comprehensive benefits packages in the market.

About the Role

The Conflicts Analyst plays a key role in running timely, accurate conflict of interest checks—covering new client business, supplemental requests, pre-clearance, pending laterals, and business development matters. This role requires a strong understanding of legal conflicts and related ethical rules, along with the ability to research, analyze, and clarify complex party and matter relationships. It's an excellent fit for someone who is detail-oriented, discreet, and comfortable managing multiple time-sensitive requests independently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and disseminate lateral conflicts information, coordinating with candidates, attorneys, recruiting, and administrative teams
  • Create, review, and analyze conflict of interest reports using conflicts database systems and other firm tools
  • Review lateral candidate questionnaires, client/matter lists, and related materials to clarify parties, roles, and potential concerns
  • Track waivers, consents, engagement letters, screen requirements, and related institutional knowledge
  • Monitor and move pending conflicts requests through the review process in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update conflicts databases with accurate party and matter information
  • Support attorneys on ethical walls, confidentiality screens, and related compliance matters
  • Conduct research using third-party legal/business research tools (Lexis, public records, corporate family tree resources, etc.) to verify parties and related entities
  • Participate in or manage special projects as assigned
  • Occasional overtime/after-hours work may be required

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a related role, or direct conflicts experience at a law firm
  • Law firm experience highly desired
  • Experience with conflicts management software preferred but not required
  • Strong research skills (Westlaw, internet, and other tools)
  • Strong business writing, communication, and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Extremely detail-oriented, reliable, and able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Comfortable adapting to frequent changes and shifting priorities
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization

Benefits

  • 401(k) with pre-tax and Roth options, plus an annual discretionary profit-sharing contribution (auto-enrollment/escalation features included; 3-month eligibility wait)
  • Medical coverage (eligible day one)
  • Dental and vision coverage, both eligible day one
  • Basic Life and AD&D coverage
  • Long-term and short-term disability coverage
  • Dependent Care FSA options
  • Wellness program
  • Subsidized childcare
