About the role

The Configuration Manager will support configuration management activities for developmental and operational systems. The role involves working with development and operational teams to create, maintain, and manage configuration baselines across various environments. Key responsibilities include implementing and enforcing configuration management policies and procedures, utilizing automated CM tools, and performing change control and configuration audits.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing, and independently implement, hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures, ensuring they are followed on hardware and software development projects.
  • Utilize, manage, maintain, and develop configuration management tools (e.g., DOORS, Eclipse) to store, track, and manage configuration items across developmental and operational environments.
  • Understand and apply configuration management concepts, and assist in documenting hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures.
  • Develop hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures, manage and maintain the configuration management environment, and work independently to support full lifecycle configuration management activities.
  • Serve as an advisor to, or non-voting member of, the Government Change Control Board (CCB) while managing configuration management activities that support controlled change and system integrity.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of experience as a Configuration Manager on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity (six (6) years with a Master’s degree).
  • One (1) year of experience using a source code control system for a developmental program of similar scope and complexity if assigned to a developmental program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university, OR twelve (12) years of Configuration Management experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to assist in implementing, and independently implement, hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures, and ensure they are followed on hardware and software development projects.
  • Must possess the ability to assist in, utilize, manage, maintain, and develop configuration management tools (e.g., DOORS, Eclipse) to store, track, and manage configuration items across developmental and operational environments.
  • Must be capable of understanding and applying configuration management concepts, and assisting in documenting hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to understand basic concepts and assist in maintaining, managing, and developing the configuration management environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
  • Must possess the ability to assist in defining, and independently define and implement, hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, including creating product build scripts and procedures and integrating those scripts with the hardware and software build process.
  • Must be capable of developing hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures, manage and maintain the configuration management environment, and work independently to support full lifecycle configuration management activities.
  • Must be capable of serving as an advisor to, or non-voting member of, the Government Change Control Board (CCB) while managing configuration management activities that support controlled change and system integrity.
