About the role

Avalore is seeking a Cloud Design Engineer, Level 3, responsible for configuration management (CM) of developmental and operational systems. This role involves working with developmental and operational teams to create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) supporting these systems.

Responsibilities

  • Use or recommend automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures.
  • Develop or modify CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the system.
  • Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life.
  • Perform change control and configuration audits.
  • Assist in implementing hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Use configuration management tools (e.g., DOORS, Eclipse) to store, track, and manage configuration items.
  • Document hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures.
  • Maintain and develop the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
  • Define and implement hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and integrating them with the build process.
  • Develop hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures, ensuring they are followed on development projects.
  • Apply concepts to define and implement CM processes, such as creating product build scripts and integrating them with the build process.
  • Serve as an advisor or non-voting member of the Government Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Ensure hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures are followed.
  • Manage, maintain, and develop the CM environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
  • Work independently to define and implement hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of experience as a CM in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university. A Master's degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience, reducing total experience to six (6) years.
  • Four (4) years of additional CM experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • If assigned to a developmental program, one (1) year of experience using a source code control system for a program of similar scope and complexity.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with an appropriate current polygraph is required.
  • Ability to receive privileged access rights.
