About the role
Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. (AMA) is seeking a full-time, on-site Configuration and Data Management (C&DM) Analyst/Configuration Management Administrator (CMA) to support NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC).
Responsibilities
- Provide CM and data management support to the Project/Program Manager, Chief Engineer, and Operations Engineer by maintaining documentation to ensure accurate records of configured items are preserved throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and document the functional and physical characteristics of configuration items, control configuration changes, and report configuration status for assigned platforms and projects at AFRC.
- Serve as a key interface between multiple project teams, NASA customers, and supporting organizations, requiring strong communication, organizational, and technical skills.
- Coordinate project Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities, including assembling and distributing agendas, ensuring quorum members are present, facilitating meetings, updating and maintaining the ACMS database, and producing CCB Meeting Minutes that include attendees, CM record actions, and follow-up items.
- Support design reviews and conduct configuration audits, including Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) of hardware and software products.
- Review contractor configuration and data management plans to ensure compliance with applicable NASA and AFRC requirements.
- Track action items for project reviews and technical interchange meetings; maintain the action item database and associated metrics.
- Brief project teams on CM status at weekly project meetings, reviewing open and late records, and proactively addressing potential issues.
- Provide transparent and detailed reporting to assigned project teams, maintaining a clear overview of configuration health.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in configuration management or a related technical support field.
- Has performed CM and data management administrative tasks under direct supervision and supported CCB activities, record management, database maintenance, and document tracking.
- Provided CM status briefings, managed open and late records, and coordinated document releases with minimal supervision.
- Supported CMP development, configuration audits, and CCB administration actions.
- Served as the primary CM point of contact for project teams and NASA customers.
- Implemented continuous process improvement initiatives and participated in multifunctional working groups to develop and enhance C&DM processes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of CM principles, including configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, and records management.
- Familiarity with project lifecycle processes and CM control of engineering changes.
- Strong organizational skills, a critical eye for detail, and the ability to manage and control a large volume of internal and external documents.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; this position serves as a key interface between multiple project teams and NASA customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple concurrent priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, the Box cloud system, and Jira-based applications.
- Experience with WBS Schedule Pro, Deltek Acumen Fuse, and/or Kidasa Software Milestones Professional.
- Experience supporting CCB administration, including agenda preparation, meeting facilitation, and minutes documentation.
- Experience performing or supporting Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs).
- Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects in a government contracting or aerospace environment.
- Familiarity with AFRC project management processes and NASA Agency policies.
Skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills.

- Experience with CM tools and databases, including Jira, ACCT, Work Order System, and NAMIS.
- Knowledge of CM principles and practices.
