About the role
The Conference Center Manager oversees smooth and efficient facility operations, focusing on administrative and operational aspects while anticipating and meeting client needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage staff and coordinate logistics to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Foster positive onsite experiences to drive return business.
- Proactively identify and promptly address client concerns to maintain trust and satisfaction.
- Lead a team of Facility Supervisor(s), Site Supervisor(s), and Client Service Representatives (CSR).
- Ensure staff uphold consistency, efficiency, and attention to detail.
- Train and develop employees under the supervision of the Facility Director.
- Provide feedback and career coaching to employees.
- Support annual performance reviews for full-time and part-time staff.
- Delegate tasks effectively to facility staff, aligning with client expectations and project nuances.
- Oversee hospitality and administrative functions, ensuring seamless management and efficient operation.
- Coordinate with outside vendors to meet client needs to a high standard.
- Assist with basic IT/AV issues and report problems to the AV/IT Department.
- Support Project Managers with in-house project client services and client feedback.
- Maintain the facility and collaborate with property management and approved vendors.
- Review project materials at project kick-off, attend kick-off calls with clients, engage in communication, and ensure all needs are collected for projects.
- Follow facility project execution protocols, including paperwork, client welcome, and staff briefings.
- Ensure client food service and day-of requests are fully addressed.
- Affirm all participant compensation is processed and reports are accurate.
- Aid in preparing and reviewing invoice requests, ensuring accuracy and completing necessary aspects of project close-out.
- Perform CSR duties when appropriate and necessary.
- Schedule participants in internal platform systems for room rentals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years of hospitality industry experience preferred.
- Prior experience in market research is an asset, but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience.
- Strong client-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience guiding and motivating teams.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
- Professional demeanor and polished appearance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using computer-based systems.
