Confectionery Assistant Job Coach

Position Overview

This role involves supporting individuals in developing job skills and achieving career goals within our confectionery operations. The Assistant Job Coach will work closely with leadership, and Job Coaches to develop our associates to enhance their strengths, provide guidance, and foster a supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in making handcrafted candy and other sweet confections.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety in the kitchen.
  • Provide excellent customer service and manage daily sales transactions.
  • Support neurodiverse individuals in developing job skills.
  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model in a work-based setting.
  • Help create an inclusive, encouraging, and fun environment for all staff.
  • Provide input on the development of and implement individualized job coaching and employment plans.
  • Communicate with employees to understand their goals and aspirations.
  • Aid employees in overcoming personal barriers and setting achievable objectives.
  • Assess individual strengths and teach effective utilization in the workplace.
  • Guide employees in learning and completing job tasks efficiently.
  • Provide coaching in job search techniques and career development.
  • Support individuals with developing social and life skills.
  • Advise on workplace accommodations to promote inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to support social media efforts and community relations.
  • Attend external events to promote products and/or the workplace training program.
  • Monitor and evaluate employee progress, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Other job duties as assigned by other Achievers and/or supervisor

Who We’re Looking For

  • Interest in candy making, baking, or food production.
  • Exceptional customer service or sales/retail experience.
  • Desire to support and work with neurodiverse individuals.
  • Patience, creativity, and a team-first mindset.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to rapid changes in the daily work environment and be resourceful in solving problems.
  • Must be able to handle cash and credit card transactions; ensures accuracy in POS entries and change provided.
  • Must be able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Exceptional hygiene skills.
  • Ability to work in small, shared spaces in a production environment.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Ability to demonstrate alignment with and actively embody mission, vision, values, and beliefs in actions, decisions, and communications at all times.
