About the Opportunity:The CONDO UNDERWRITER - MORTGAGE is responsible for managing the complete evaluation and approval process of condominium projects for residential mortgage lending. This role serves as the primary expert on condominium eligibility, ensuring projects meet agency, investor, and portfolio standards. The position impacts the organization by maintaining the integrity and compliance of condominium project financing. Responsibilities:Evaluate condominium projects for eligibility under mortgage lending guidelines.Review project documentation, including insurance and legal matters.Analyze ownership, occupancy, financials, and governance risks.Identify and resolve eligibility issues and documentation deficiencies.Manage project certifications, conditions, and approval records.Develop and maintain review procedures, training materials, and decision tools.Provide guidance and support to Sales, Fulfillment, Underwriting, and Management teams.Support process improvements and technology initiatives related to condominium lending. Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum five years of experience in condominium project review, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac standards.Strong knowledge of condominium eligibility requirements and mortgage lending guidelines.Experience analyzing association budgets, financials, reserve studies, insurance, and governing documents.Proficiency with Encompass, Condo Project Advisor, Condo Project Manager, or similar platforms.Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to manage workload independently with accuracy. Preferred:Experience with FHA and VA condominium project reviews. Pay Range and Compensation Package:Salary range: $36.05 to $43.25 per hour ($75,000 to $90,000 annually) depending on experience.
