About the Role
The Predictive Maintenance Analyst Senior supports the operation and maintenance of the fossil fleet, driving the plant’s Predictive Maintenance functions to ensure effective execution of the maintenance strategy. This role focuses on equipment performance improvement and interfaces with corporate support groups, fleet resources, plant management, support and production staff, other Vistra plants, and the Power Optimization Center (POC). Flexibility to be based at a Vistra generation site.
Responsibilities
- Promote safety by utilizing HPI tools and techniques in daily functions and active involvement in the plant safety program.
- Ensure equipment data is collected with consistency, quality, and timeliness according to the equipment maintenance strategy.
- Analyze data proficiently and use support resources efficiently.
- Ensure equipment maintenance strategies minimize unplanned equipment failure and maximize plant reliability.
- Champion the plant’s predictive maintenance program within plant organizations.
- Promote consistency and continuous improvement by standardizing procedures, processes, equipment, and operations practices across the fleet.
- Support capital projects by providing data and analysis for project justification.
- Provide technical support for QA/QC, installation, and start-up of new equipment.
- Participate in the outage planning process, providing input into needed equipment inspection and repair.
- Maintain documentation to support data-driven decisions related to predictive maintenance (PdM) activities.
- Build predictive maintenance strategy around existing and new equipment added via the capital project system.
- Utilize plant reporting instrumentation for monitoring and investigating equipment condition and historical trends.
- Provide training in PdM technologies to Reliability Technicians.
- Coordinate and direct the work of Reliability Technicians as required.
- Assume the responsibilities of the Reliability Supervisor during their absence.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ten years of related industrial experience, including progressive responsibility (power plant maintenance or operations preferred).
- Demonstrated proficiency in the utilization of resources such as CMMS, SKF software, drawings, and instruction books.
- Level 2 certifications in PdM technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication analysis).
- Level 3 certification in one of the PdM technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication analysis).
- Experience with RCA facilitation in accordance with Vistra standards.
- Knowledge of corporate Reliability and Predictive Maintenance standards, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to create and support new ideas to improve efficiency.
- Ensures tasks are completed within expected time frames through proper planning and implementation.
- Strong communication skills in written, verbal, and electronic forms.
- Demonstrates knowledge of how assigned work activities impact operations and maintenance of other systems and units.
Physical Requirements
- Use of PC and/or data collector 4-6 hours per day.
- Occasional long or irregular hours.
- Occasional travel between company facilities and occasional overnight travel.
