About the Role

The LPG, Condensate, and Water Vacuum Transport Driver operates a variety of tractor/tank truck combinations and related mechanical devices for transporting, loading, and unloading products, materials, and equipment. This role involves performing truck safety inspections, verifying product loading, and preparing operational and DOT forms and records.

Responsibilities

  • Performs truck safety inspections, verification of product loading/lading, and preparation of operational and DOT forms and records.
  • Utilizes required Electronic Logging Device (ELD) for daily logging and dispatch.
  • Operates a variety of makes, models, and sizes of tractor/tank truck combinations and related mechanical devices for transporting, loading, and unloading products.
  • Carries out scheduled deliveries by route as specified by Targa Transport dispatchers.
  • Adheres to all company and DOT safety policies and procedures.
  • Loads/unloads or assists in loading/unloading transport using mechanical devices, following approved procedures.
  • Determines vehicle safety through personal inspections before leaving the company facility.
  • Works a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; may require maximum hours allowed by DOT.
  • May be assigned to other Targa Transport locations or work sites requiring overnight stays.
  • Provides or assists with training for new drivers and those returning from extended leave.
  • Handles materials safely during driving, loading, and unloading.
  • Responds to emergency situations with appropriate action.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and routine DOT inspections for tractors and trailers.
  • Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills with customers and employees.
  • Occasional overnight stays may be required for certain trips.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid, current Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsements (X).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Over the Road (OTR) tanker experience.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Must meet all FMCSA Part 391-Qualification of Drivers requirements.
  • Proven ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; equivalent combination of education, CDL qualifications, and relevant experience may be considered.

Physical Demands

  • Requires physical and mental ability to operate a tractor/trailer and associated equipment.
  • Operates in extreme weather or other adverse conditions, in and out of the tractor cab.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Performs rigorous outside and indoor duties including walking, standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, sitting, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 75 pounds to waist height.
