Concrete Superintendent

About the Opportunity

Location: Matthews, NC / Greater Charlotte Area. Employment Type: Full-Time. A growing commercial concrete and pavement contractor in the Greater Charlotte area is seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent to lead field operations across concrete construction, repair, and improvement projects. This is a hands-on field leadership position for someone who understands concrete from the ground up and knows how to effectively manage crews, coordinate equipment and materials, maintain project schedules, and deliver high-quality work safely and efficiently. Projects include a variety of commercial and site concrete scopes, including concrete paving, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, dumpster pads, concrete repairs and patching, drainage improvements, and other exterior concrete work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field operations for multiple concrete construction and repair projects.
• Supervise and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and project resources.
• Plan and manage concrete activities including site preparation, forming, reinforcing, placement, finishing, curing, and repair work.
• Manage scopes including flatwork, paving, sidewalks, curb and gutter, pads, and concrete removal/replacement.
• Coordinate manpower and equipment to maintain production goals and project schedules.
• Review project plans, specifications, and scopes of work and communicate requirements to field personnel.
• Monitor jobsite productivity, workmanship, material usage, and overall project progress.
• Coordinate concrete deliveries, equipment, inspections, and other field requirements.
• Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule, quality, or cost.
• Maintain strong communication with Project Managers, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and field crews.
• Enforce company safety procedures and maintain safe, organized jobsites.
• Perform quality-control inspections to ensure completed work meets plans, specifications, and company standards.
• Complete daily field reports and communicate project status, manpower, delays, and upcoming needs to management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of concrete construction experience preferred, with prior experience leading crews or supervising field operations.
• Strong knowledge of commercial concrete construction, particularly flatwork and exterior/site concrete.
• Experience with concrete paving, sidewalks, curb and gutter, pads, repairs, and removal/replacement work highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of forming, reinforcing, placement, finishing, curing, and concrete quality standards.
• Proven ability to manage crews, schedules, equipment, materials, and multiple active jobsites.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Strong knowledge of jobsite safety practices and OSHA requirements.
• Excellent field leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changing project conditions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to jobsites throughout the Greater Charlotte area.

Pay

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000+ annually, depending on experience.
