Responsibilities
- Work in a broad range of construction types, overseeing concrete construction efforts.
- Ensure projects are executed according to design, budget, and schedule.
- Collaborate with project superintendent, foreman, trades, client representatives, A/E representatives, and other contractors professionally.
- Create a proactive safety culture emphasizing “safety first”.
- Administer project safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Conduct safety audits monthly, including site visits and reviews of project-specific documentation.
- Develop and project engineers, and exhibit ability to identify and develop talent.
- Provide technical assistance, constructability feedback, and interpret drawings.
- Participate in purchasing and scheduling commitments with the project superintendent.
- Develop and audit project schedules at all phases of design development.
- Support on-site functions such as engineering, scheduling, and coordination of materials, equipment, and manpower.
- Lead in developing and implementing project procedures and standards.
- Maintain relationships with field superintendents, foremen, and management teams.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate field superintendents and foremen.
- Ensure foremen plan for self-performed work to meet equipment and manpower needs.
- Maintain updated project schedules and sub-schedules.
- Align field operations with Prime Agreement requirements.
- Timely buyout of subcontracts for projects.
- Monitor design details for cost and constructability.
- Stay familiar with owner contract terms and risks.
- Assist with project pursuits in developing early schedules, logistics plans, and work plans.
- Review, approve, or deny purchase orders and pay requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering or related field.
- Experience in self-performing concrete work.
- Strong understanding of all building construction trades.
- Proficiency in Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling.
- Ability to project cost and manage schedules.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
- Knowledge of safety standards, including OSHA 30 or greater.
- Self-starter with the ability to set and achieve goals.
Education and Skills
- Software: Bluebeam, Procore, Outbuild, Primavera, Vista.
- Experience: Concrete construction experience required.
- Skills: Strong grasp of all building construction trades, skilled in CPM Scheduling, proficient in cost projecting, and adept in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
