Concrete Laborer

About the Role

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full‑time Concrete Laborer to travel and perform concrete repair and maintenance operations in the Adkins, Texas area, working day shifts with occasional night shifts.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of tasks related to highway concrete repair and maintenance while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and Jorgensen company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Concrete forming, finishing, and repair experience required – minimum 2 years of related experience
• Exposure to using shovels, weed‑trimming machinery, brooms, and various small hand tools
• Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, etc. operator experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use a smartphone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate hand and power tools
• Must pass background check, MVR, and controlled substance testing prior to hire

Skills (Preferred Experience)

• Roadway maintenance experience
• Air compressor operations familiarity
• Guardrail and sign installation experience
• MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
• Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required
• Clean driving record essential
