Concrete Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

  • Perform specific tasks associated with conducting laboratory testing on construction materials for various projects under the supervision of senior technicians and other lab staff.
  • Carry out routine laboratory tests using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance.
  • Aid in maintaining laboratory organization and cleanliness in compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) initiatives to ensure accreditation compliance.
  • Conduct calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment following the manufacturer’s schedule and records.
  • Notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment as needed.
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests for concrete, including labeling and setting samples for curing, monitoring temperature logs, and breaking of samples.
  • Collect and perform calculations and data reduction based on test results.
  • Document results accurately and demonstrate competency of testing methods.
  • Perform administrative duties as requested.

Requirements

  • No prior experience necessary, as you'll work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks in our concrete laboratory.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain laboratory certifications for concrete.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT laboratory equipment, testing methods, and ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, or both.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Qualifications
