About the Role
Western Specialty Contractors is seeking a self-motivated Concrete Foreman to join our Indianapolis, IN team. As a member of the branch production team, you will oversee work within a specific area, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Set forms and prepare appropriate subbase/grade for new concrete
- Read simple drawings and operate heavy equipment (e.g., skid loader with breaker, air hammers, mini excavator) to remove existing concrete
- Manage crew and lead others during concrete pours
- Finish slab-on-grade concrete, parking garage slabs, sidewalks, curb, and gutter
- Supervise workers to ensure construction complies with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Act as the competent person on-site by identifying and mitigating hazards, halting unsafe operations, and removing employees from dangerous environments
- Mix cement, load/transport/unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Clean work areas and restock supplies
- Assist with rigging scaffolding in accordance with corporate guidelines
- Perform minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment
- Remove defective spots from concrete using grinders, hammers, or chisels; patch holes
- Supervise and coordinate worker activities, adjust work sequences, and communicate progress to superintendents
- Ensure workers adhere to company safety policies
- Maintain liaison with customer representatives and report potential issues to superintendents or project managers
Requirements
- Follow specific directions and adapt to changing duties
- Identify and mitigate predictable hazards in work environments
- Demonstrate sufficient reading, writing, and math skills to comprehend safety policies and material instructions
- Read and interpret drawings
- Communicate effectively to supervise employees and maintain customer relations
- Stand or walk for long periods; lift and carry materials weighing 50+ pounds
- Climb ladders, scaffolds, and other structures while carrying tools and equipment
- Work at heights, in extreme temperatures, and wear required safety equipment
- Experience in a trade or craft, preferably in concrete and masonry

Eligibility for benefits begins after 90 days of employment for employees working 30+ hours per week.
Pay
US Pay Range: $42–$50 USD per hour. Compensation is determined by experience, skills, internal equity, market benchmarks, and geographic labor costs. Additional eligibility for ESOP and other benefits may apply.
