Concrete Finisher

Responsibilities

• Safely assist in the placement of concrete and final finishing of concrete surfaces.
• Fill roadways, driveways, sidewalks, bridges, and parking lots.
• Arrange the concrete forms and prepare surfaces.
• Level surfaces by using special blades, smoothing out all lumps and bubbles.
• Shape the concrete using wood or plastic forms and smooth high spots and fill depressions.
• Finish corners by hand.
• Use machines that vibrate concrete to fill air pockets.
• Perform tasks requiring knowledge and safe use of crane hand signals.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• A Class A CDL is strongly desired.
• A High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Prior construction experience preferred.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Be able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
• Work in variable weather conditions, dirty and dusty environments, and crawl in close quarters to strip concrete forms.
• Member of a Local Cement Masons Union, or willing to become a union member.
• Able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Able to shoot grades.
