About the role
Custom Agri Systems Inc. is seeking a Concrete Construction Laborer to assist with the preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete foundations and flatwork for grain bins, grain handling systems, and agricultural facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with site preparation, excavation, grading, and foundation layout for grain bin projects.
- Build, set, and remove concrete forms.
- Place, tie, and install reinforcing steel, anchor bolts, and embedded materials according to project specifications.
- Assist with pouring, placing, screeding, finishing, and curing concrete.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively.
- Absorb and unload materials and maintain job site organization.
- Measure and verify dimensions, elevations, and layouts as directed by supervisors.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout all phases of construction.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Communicate professionally with customers and represent the company positively at job sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Previous concrete construction, agricultural construction, or general construction experience preferred.
- Experience with concrete forming, finishing, and reinforcing steel installation preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, and site plans.
- Experience operating skid steers, telehandlers, forklifts, or other construction equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of foundation construction and anchor bolt placement for grain bins or agricultural structures preferred.
- OSHA safety training or related certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks in outdoor environments.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak construction periods.
- Ability to work on uneven ground and around heavy equipment.
- Work environment includes exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, concrete materials, and construction equipment.
- Frequent travel to customer job sites throughout North Dakota and Minnesota.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet project schedules.
