About The Job

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Concrete Carpenter/Finisher to perform various tasks on construction sites. This role involves demolition, soil preparation, and concrete placement, among other responsibilities.

  • Assist Foremen in layout and set elevations for new formwork
  • Place and tie structural reinforcement
  • Execute readiness for concrete placements such as footings and foundations
  • Work on ADA compliant walkways and flatwork in commercial settings
  • Perform structural concrete work
  • Operate hand and power tools including demo saws, jack hammers, core drills, rebar benders/cutters, electric saws, drills, hand tools, surveying and measuring equipment, small equipment, and skid steer loaders
  • Read and understand construction blueprints
  • Assist in scaffolding erection and bracing
  • Help prep and clean construction site
  • Signal Equipment Operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of equipment
  • Load, transport, and unload forming materials, tools, and supplies
  • Restock worksite supplies and materials as necessary
  • Identify and follow safe working procedures
  • Identify and stop unsafe work practices that present imminent danger to themselves and others
  • Perform additional job functions as assigned, including layout, grade stations/stakes, curb/gutter, flat work, structural/retaining walls, operation of skid steer

What We’re Looking For

  • 5 years of concrete construction experience or knowledge required
  • Experience using a variety of hand, pneumatic, electric, and motor-powered tools and equipment
  • Some experience operating heavy equipment preferred, but not required
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to use power and hand tools, materials, and other equipment used on construction sites
  • Knowledge of excavation and backfilling methods, practices, and procedures preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures specific to labor work, including OSHA standards
  • Ability to work effectively with a team
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and direction both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to learn on the job
