Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Computerized Batching: Operate automated batching systems to produce ready-mix concrete in accordance with strict mix designs, customer specifications, and quality control guidelines.
- Material Inventory Tracking: Monitor raw material levels (aggregates, cement, admixtures, and water) to ensure continuous, uninterrupted plant production.
- Mechanical Diagnostics & Inspections: Conduct daily plant inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues across conveyors, mixers, silos, compressors, and weighing systems.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform minor mechanical adjustments, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting on batching hardware and material delivery systems; coordinate complex repairs with plant leadership and service technicians.
- Quality Assurance Standards: Verify accurate moisture inputs, aggregate adjustments, and material ratios within the batching software to ensure all loads meet company standards.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain an organized facility while adhering to all corporate safety protocols and operational standards.
- Fleet Scheduling: Schedule and dispatch ready-mix trucks efficiently to align with customer delivery windows and jobsite delivery rates.
- Real-Time Fleet Routing: Monitor truck locations, production queues, and jobsite status to adjust dispatch plans dynamically as field conditions shift.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the central communication liaison between customers, delivery drivers, quality control technicians, and plant personnel.
- Performance Tracking: Track order status, cycle times, and daily production metrics to resolve delivery delays and operational conflicts in real time.
- Batching Software Management: Operate industry-standard software (e.g., Command Alkon, Sysdyne, Marcotte, or similar) to execute orders and manage dispatch logs.
- Data Administration: Maintain accurate shipping tickets, daily production logs, inventory records, and customer order histories.
- Systems Troubleshooting: Monitor automated sensors, moisture probes, scale interfaces, and control boards; troubleshoot hardware, printers, and communication devices as needed.
- Process Optimization: Analyze production data to identify efficiency gains, maintain accurate electronic records, and ensure precise system data entry.
What You Need To Succeed (Qualifications)
- Required Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in ready-mix concrete, construction materials, industrial manufacturing, logistics, or a related field.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Hands-on ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems, read technical manuals, and understand industrial process controls.
- Technical Software Skills: High proficiency with computer systems, digital control panels, and standard software suites (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).
- Operational Drive: Proven capability to multitask, prioritize, and make critical decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication & Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly across departments.
- Preferred: Direct experience with Command Alkon, Sysdyne, Marcotte, or related concrete batching and dispatching platforms. Hands-on experience operating automated industrial processing equipment. Functional knowledge of concrete mix designs, aggregate properties, and chemical admixtures. Familiarity with Commercial Driver's License (CDL) guidelines and ready-mix mixer truck operations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work safely on elevated plant platforms and silos.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when handling materials or maintenance tools.
- Capability to work indoors in control rooms and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform visual inspections throughout the production facility.
