Concierge Care Phlebotomist Float PRN
Part-time, non-benefits-eligible position. PRN schedule: Monday–Friday, 07:00–15:30 at SouthPark, Dilworth, or Huntersville offices. Minimum requirement: 36 hours every 6 weeks.
Pay
$20.80 – $31.20 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Collects and/or processes patient blood obtained by venipuncture and/or capillary puncture in a timely and accurate manner.
- Processes non-blood patient specimens accurately and promptly.
- Assists in specimen preparation, receipt, and transport.
- Performs patient registration.
- Provides phone support for patient-care areas in a polite and professional manner.
- Maintains competency with hospital and laboratory information systems.
- Trains new team members and/or students on departmental standard work processes.
- Resolves issues requiring additional investigation, including follow-up phone calls, and supports teammates.
- Serves as a subject-matter expert and resource for teammates.
- Mentors, coaches, and trains team members to maintain clear understanding of standard work.
- Identifies and resolves workflow impediments to support consistent departmental operations.
- Performs duties that support efficient laboratory workflow, including specimen collection, processing, patient registration, and CLIA-waived testing.
- Provides leadership within the department by modeling expected behaviors, following standards, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred for facilities where phlebotomy is an assigned duty.
Physical Requirements
- Works in a fast-paced clinical environment with biohazardous (infectious) materials, chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards.
- Duties involve standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending, and lifting light (20 lb) to moderately heavy (50 lb) loads.
- Potential latex exposure; wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while handling patient specimens.
