About the role
The Concessions Specialist is responsible for opening and closing duties, operating both the hot and cold service lines, and preparing drinks and menu items according to standardized recipes and procedures. This role also operates the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately create and close customer transactions, handles cash responsibly, maintains knowledge of all menu items and promotions, and delivers exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is adaptable, responds quickly to changing priorities, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while meeting the evolving needs of both the organization and its customers.
Schedule
- 4 × 10-hour shifts
- Working hours: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Operate hot and cold service lines
- Prepare drinks and menu items following standardized recipes
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) system to create and close customer transactions
- Handle cash responsibly
- Maintain knowledge of all menu items and promotions
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- Complete food preparation procedures according to written instructions
- Ensure paperwork and data entry is accurate and legible
- Multitask and handle multiple, simultaneous orders
- Keep necessary items and supplies adequately stocked
- Expand knowledge of staff dietary needs and restrictions
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading orders
- Perform routine inventory checks and create vendor orders as necessary
- Maintain knowledge of all available menu items, their ingredients, and preparation methods
- Create daily or weekly special menu items and order necessary items to execute them properly
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required
- One-year prior work experience in a high-volume kitchen or beverage service environment required
- Food Handler Card (or Food Handler Certificate) required
- Experience in customer service and/or retail preferred
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required
- Ability to handle food items safely and properly in a kitchen environment
- Understanding of retail and cash handling operations required
- Ability to learn/use POS software
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to dust, heat, cold, temperature changes, occasional wet floors, and animal noises, odors, and dander
