About the Role

The Concessions Manager is responsible for the effective management of venue concessions operations, including inventory controls, product ordering, training new employees, cash controls, compliance with alcohol service policies, cleaning, safety, guest service, employee/volunteer training and supervision, warehouse oversight, troubleshooting, closing duties, event planning support, food preparation and production, and other tasks assigned by the GM. The role requires providing a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency, and operational/personnel support to ensure smooth operation of the Arena & Concessions Department.

The Concessions Manager will actively supervise, coach, counsel, direct, train, and mentor employees while maintaining excellent attendance and availability for a variable event-driven schedule, including evenings and weekends. Flexible availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction, and strong technical (computer and POS) aptitude are required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and mentor a staff of part-time and full-time concessions employees, including initiating employee discipline as required.
  • Complete documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure proper setup of all concession locations prior to doors, including verifying opening inventory, assigning duties, ensuring sanitation standards, and confirming operational readiness.
  • Provide oversight and operational expertise for smooth, efficient, and profitable event execution.
  • Oversee high-volume inventory, product ordering, and sales management.
  • Run all venue concessions operations before, during, and after events, including staff scheduling, equipment inspection, POS monitoring, guest complaint resolution, and post-event reconciliation.
  • Train new and current employees on property procedures and best practices.
  • Cover or back up open positions to ensure operational standards for speed of service and guest satisfaction are met.
  • Assist with Premium Services operations and event needs as directed.
  • Provide direction and oversight to Concessions Supervisors, Stand Managers, Concession Cooks, and Cashiers.
  • Ensure compliance with all state/federal and IEC policies, including alcohol distribution, food handling, sanitation, and safety guidelines.
  • Report compliance issues, including alcohol service concerns, to management immediately.
  • Complete post-event evaluations, data compilation, tracking of shortages, and report generation.
  • Serve as a resource for POS applications and training.
  • Maintain a safe, harassment-free work environment and address safety concerns or incidents promptly.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentoring to event staff and volunteers.
  • Promote a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative workplace environment.
  • Develop working knowledge of all concession locations, including equipment, evacuation procedures, and facility access.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or greater in Culinary Management, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Concessions Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related role.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping systems.
  • Experience training new employees and volunteers.
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls.
  • Experience ordering products for a high-volume venue or facility.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, volunteers, management, and guests.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions quickly under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, event-driven environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, and safety standards.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions related to POS transactions, cash reconciliation, and inventory management.
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
  • Nationally recognized food service or alcohol service training certification preferred.

Pay

Annual salary of $70,000–$80,000.
