Concession Worker | Part-Time | University of Connecticut Athletics

About the role

Oak View Group (OVG) is the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, with a platform spanning venue development and end-to-end capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. The Concessions Worker prepares and serves concession items to guests, prepares and pours beverages, ensures quality of food presentation, and utilizes a cash register to accept payment. This role is tip eligible.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cash register sales by taking orders, building orders, and completing transactions.
• Build orders, prepare food, and have knowledge of all areas in the concessions operations.
• Maintain stock and supply levels and communicate low-stock items to the Concessions Stand Manager.
• Listen and respond to customer requests or concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including disposal of garbage and cleaning dishes.
• Serve beverages to guests, including alcoholic beverages, responsibly.
• Check guest’s ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for purchase of alcoholic beverages.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three or more months’ experience in the food service industry preferred.
• Previous cash handling experience preferred or willingness to learn to handle cash and operate a cash register.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers, and guests.
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.94.
