Concession Cook

JOB TITLE: Concession Cook COMPANY: Legends Global DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage FACILITY: Mohegan Arena @ Casey Plaza REPORTS TO: Concession Stand Leader FLSA: Part-Time, Hourly/Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the setup, preparation, and production of concession food items in the concession stands. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Sets up the cooks’ station(s) and makes sure that all cooking tools are in placeFilters and/or changes cooking oil as needed or directed, disposing the spent oil in the appropriate mannerCompletes all pre-event food prep as directedPrepares all food items and makes sure the stand is kept stocked with cooked product during the event as business warrants, stocking as business builds while minimizing all spoilage and wasteFollows all food handling procedures as directedBreaks down cooks’ station(s), cleans all cooking tools and equipment, returning everything to its place, ready for the next eventSweeps and mops concession stand floors and assists with the removal of any trash and cardboard from the concession standPerforms other tasks as assigned WORK CONTACTS: Event day contact with the Concession Stand Supervisor, Food & Beverage and other Arena Staff, and non -profit group volunteers PHYSICAL EFFORT: This position requires stooping, lifting, exposure to heat, substantial standing, walking and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. to the shoulder. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works mainly in the concession stands within the facility. QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess basic working knowledge of fryers, flat top grills, and roller grillsMust possess the ability to stand for extended periods of time working in a heated area and work in an often fast-paced environmentMust possess the ability to pay close attention to cleanliness and detailMust possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectivelyMust possess the ability to work hours as dictated by eventsMust possess the ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, work as a team, and have reliable transportationMust practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and complete any company-wide safety training and any additional job specific trainingMust pass a HireRight Background Check in compliance with company standardsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
