About the role

Responsible for delivering brand-informed seasonal concepts with leadership oversight. Understands how product design, market analysis and data analytics influence and evolve retail strategies at a brand level. Identifies and curates color palettes, trends, print/pattern, fabric and silhouette information for specific brands.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers seasonal concepts at a brand-level to Nordstrom Made partners, kicking off the design process and influencing brand direction.
  • Conducts color and trend research to support seasonal product priorities and merchant strategies.
  • Reinforces conceptual/trend information as new intel becomes available, always keeping a pulse on fashion publications, social media and the runways.
  • Competitively shops the market to understand the landscape, reporting back key findings to CFTs.
  • Influences product decisions during the development and assortment phases to ensure relevant, engaging offerings for our customer.
  • Has confidence to identify where assortments have strayed away from the original concept and can provide recommendations to course-correct.
  • Identifies and champions efficiencies across multiple category reports to ensure team success, reduce workload where possible by streamlining research.
  • Has the ability to support multiple projects and timelines concurrently throughout each season.
  • Shows awareness for how inadequate research or missed due dates can hinder the design development process.
  • Is comfortable presenting to Sr Leadership and has the ability to tailor the conversation to the audience.
  • Supports Sr. Manager in fostering partnerships with CFT's and oversees catering content to meet their needs.
  • Seasonal travel for research and/or product development.

Qualifications

  • Strong design and conceptual skills
  • Strong knowledge of textiles, artwork techniques & fabric
  • Proficient in Illustrator and capable in Microsoft, Photoshop, InDesign, Miro, etc.
  • Positive and passionate with strong problem-solving skills
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment and build strong relationships with business partners & teammates
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • College degree in Fashion Design, Textiles or a related field
  • 5+ years relevant experience preferred

Pay

$93,500.00 - $155,000.00 Annual
