Concast Crew

About the role

The Concast Crew is responsible for operating the coiler, support equipment, banding coils, preparing necessary paperwork for shipment, and maintaining required supplies such as pallets. This position involves operating mill-side equipment, the booth, combustion systems, and the Rotary furnace to melt copper. It includes performing team operations such as startups, roll changes, band changes, wheel changes, and cleaning various parts of the casting operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate the coiler, support equipment, and band coils; prepare paperwork for shipment and maintain supplies like pallets.
• Operate mill-side equipment and ensure proper booth operation.
• Operate the combustion system and melt copper, including loading furnaces and operating the Rotary furnace.
• Perform team operations: startups, roll changes, band changes, wheel changes, and cleaning casting operation parts.
• Operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, and silent hoists.
• Identify problems in the casting process and complete corrective actions, including paperwork.
• Perform support functions: install/remove launder systems and snouts, use burning bars to clean furnaces, take temperature readings at the Rotary furnace, and repair refractory in snouts and launder systems.
• Maintain housekeeping in the assigned area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Entry-level experience.
• Ability to follow operating manual instructions.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills to input information.
