About the Role

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated COMSEC Specialist to join our team supporting the Compass Call program, an airborne tactical electronic attack weapon system that disrupts enemy command and control communications, radars, and navigation systems. The role involves ensuring compliance with NSA/CSS Policy Manual 3-16 and other applicable manuals for mission systems at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. You will work with the field engineering team to implement and maintain COMSEC security processes in a dynamic, multi-level secure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage CC CLS COMSEC accounts in accordance with NSA/CSS Policy Manual 3-16 and DAFMAN 17-1302-O.
  • Provide oversight for the CC CLS Security COMSEC program to ensure standardization and compliance.
  • Maintain Mandatory Government Requests for cryptographic software upgrades.
  • Handle the receipt, transfer, accountability, safeguarding, and destruction of all COMSEC material.
  • Utilize Key loading devices (SKL, DTD, RASKL), STE, and Viper phones.
  • Maintain knowledge of NSA 3-16, DAFMAN 17-1302-O, CNSSI manuals 4001, 4003, 4004.1, 4005, and the NISPOM.
  • Coordinate and maintain future KEYMAT in support of all programs with proper short titles based on crypto periods.
  • Investigate, prepare, and submit COMSEC incident reports to multiple cognizant security authorities.
  • Conduct semi-annual physical inventory of all COMSEC material and ensure company compliance.
  • Work closely with program personnel, asset management, and vendors to ensure proper procedures and NSA physical requirements for CCI material purchases.
  • Perform initial and refresher COMSEC and Crypto briefings, and train employees on processes and procedures.
  • Provide support during COMSEC inspections and Staff Assistance Visits.
  • Represent the organization as the Prime Contact when required.
  • Act as COMSEC lead in deployed locations, including OCONUS, to support operational and mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Hold an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain SAP.
  • Interpret and enforce government and company security policies, providing direction and guidance to program personnel.
  • Possess a high level of understanding of COMSEC policies, including NSA/CSS Policy Manual 3-16 and DAFMAN 17-1302-O in operational aircraft environments.
  • Thorough knowledge and demonstrated application of U.S. Government COMSEC security standards.
  • Experience with a wide range of Key loading devices (SKL, DTD, RASKL) and encryption devices (KGs, STE, Viper phones).
  • Complete understanding of industry practices and willingness to deploy, including OCONUS, in support of mission requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • KMI certified.
  • Previous experience with DIAS COMSEC management system.
  • Previous experience as a COMSEC Responsible Officer.
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD COMSEC Manuals (NSA, CNSS, NISPOM, DAFMAN).
  • Ability to apply knowledge of government security requirements in complex multi-level secure environments to ensure program compliance in non-routine situations.
  • Ability to work independently to identify, assess, and resolve unique COMSEC situations with innovative solutions.
  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on clear and cogent presentation of complex information.
  • Strong time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor, good interpersonal skills, and ability to perform in a multi-tasked, dynamic environment.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $72,150 – $122,655. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.

Schedule

This role is performed full-time on-site at a BAE Systems facility due to the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and on-site work requirements.
