Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain 100% accountability of all COMSEC/Cryptographic material.
  • Expertly manage SF-153 (COMSEC Material Report) forms for all receipts, transfers, destructions, and inventories.
  • Utilize the authorized system of record to accurately track, enter, and extract data for physical and electronic COMSEC/Crypto material transactions.
  • Order, safeguard, and account for Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCIs).
  • Disseminate, inventory, and destroy keying material in accordance with authorized channels and program requirements.
  • Conduct semi-annual inventories of accountable material and documentation.
  • Perform and document audits of encryption devices to ensure user compliance.
  • Perform courier duties and manage the secure wrapping and marking of outgoing packages per NSA and Customer policy.
  • Configure, load, and maintain CCI equipment using common fill devices (e.g., SKLs).
  • Provide specialized COMSEC training to users and ensure all program-specific security procedures are strictly followed.

Qualifications

  • Security Clearance: Active Secret security clearance required prior to start.
  • Experience: Prior experience as a COMSEC Custodian or Alternate, with specific proficiency in managing the official system of record and the execution of SF-153 documentation.
  • Training: Must be able to complete the NSA COMSEC course within 6 months of hire.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with NSA 3-16 COMSEC directives, CNSSI manuals (4001, 4003, 4004.1, 4005), and NISPOM.
  • High attention to detail regarding cryptographic accounting, ordering, and record-keeping.
  • Ability to apply government security requirements in complex, multi-level secure environments to ensure program compliance.
  • Knowledge of cleared contractor operations, including physical and technical security requirements.
