Join the best and brightest minds at a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science for national security. As part of the Associate Lab Directorate of Weapons Production (ALDWP), the Production Support Services Division (PSS) seeks an experienced Computing Systems Professional 3 (CSP-3) to provide advanced systems administration, infrastructure engineering, and technical leadership supporting Linux and Windows enterprise environments. You will design, implement, secure, and maintain complex heterogeneous computing infrastructures for scientific, engineering, manufacturing, and commercial applications in both unclassified and classified settings.

The successful candidate will serve as a senior technical contributor, ensuring reliability, performance, security, and lifecycle management of enterprise systems while collaborating with developers, database administrators, cybersecurity personnel, network engineers, and customers to deliver innovative infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, administer, and support complex Linux (RHEL) and Windows server environments for mission-critical applications and services.
  • Ensure reliability, availability, performance, security, and compliance of computing infrastructure through proactive monitoring, patching, vulnerability remediation, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead and support infrastructure projects by gathering requirements, evaluating solutions, assessing risks, and implementing secure, scalable technologies.
  • Develop and maintain automation, scripting, and configuration management solutions to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and system reliability.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies to address evolving customer, business, and mission needs.
  • Collaborate with customers, software developers, cybersecurity personnel, database administrators, vendors, and other technical teams to deliver effective infrastructure solutions and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, system inventories, and architecture documentation while providing technical guidance to team members.

  • Experience supporting SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, TimescaleDB, and/or other enterprise database platforms.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud computing platforms.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML, GPU, high-performance computing (HPC), or scientific computing environments.
  • Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), NIST cybersecurity controls, or similar compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or similar tools.
  • Advanced vendor certifications (e.g., Red Hat, Microsoft, VMware, AWS, Security+, or related technologies).
