Computing Sciences Faculty PRODiG+ CC (FA)
About the role
Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Faculty member in Computing Sciences who will be a part of the Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus Community College (PRODiG+CC) program.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality instruction in artificial intelligence and additional computing science subfields aligned with the candidate’s expertise and departmental needs.
- Teach across multiple areas within computing sciences to support program flexibility, enrollment growth, and evolving industry demand.
- Deliver instruction in multiple modalities, including in-person, online asynchronous, and HyFlex formats.
- Integrate current industry practices, emerging technologies, and responsible and ethical applications of artificial intelligence into coursework.
- Foster an inclusive, engaging, and student-centered learning environment.
- Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Advise and mentor students, supporting their academic progression and career aspirations.
- Serve on college committees and engage in shared governance.
- Stay current in emerging technology trends across computing disciplines and integrate advancements into courses and programs.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth in teaching, learning, and disciplinary expertise.
Qualifications
- Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship;
- Have a Master’s degree or relevant terminal degree from an accredited institution completed prior to start date;
- Demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community.
- Experience leveraging artificial intelligence.
- Ability to teach in multiple subfields within computing sciences (e.g., programming, cloud computing, cybersecurity, networking, software development, data science, or related areas).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to equity-minded, student-centered teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior college-level teaching experience in computing sciences.
- Industry experience in one or more computing subfields.
- Experience teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
- Willingness to teach at any of FLCC’s campus locations (Canandaigua, Geneva, Newark, and Victor).
Benefits and Salary Range
- Salary will depend on rank according to education and experience – Starting salary: Instructor: $61,573, Assistant Professor: $68,631.
- Additional compensation opportunities may be available through overload, summer, and winter terms.
