Job Summary
Operates Computed Tomography (CT) equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs, and tissues for the diagnosis of medical conditions. Performs a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including Computed Tomography (CT), general radiography, and fluoroscopy, while ensuring high-quality patient care and imaging standards.
Job Requirements
Education and Work Experience: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): RequiredRadiologic Technologist (RT) License in the state of practice: Required (CA)Advanced Certification in Computed Tomography (CT): Required (OR & HI), Preferred (CA)
Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification from an approved vendor per AH policy: Required
Fluoroscopy License in the state of employment: Required (CA, if operating fluoroscopy equipment)
Venipuncture Certification: Preferred (CA & OR)
Facility Specific License/Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required
Essential Functions
Affords assessments, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care for adolescent through geriatric populations.
Performs Computed Tomography (CT), general radiography, and fluoroscopy procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
Utilizes PACS and teleradiology systems to accurately transfer diagnostic images to the appropriate destination.
Maintains accurate patient records, imaging documentation, files, and billing information.
Ensures the integrity, security, and confidentiality of patient medical images and data in compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
Performs routine equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance activities.
Maintains adequate inventory of imaging supplies.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
