Job Summary

Operates Computed Tomography (CT) equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs, and tissues for the diagnosis of medical conditions. Performs a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including Computed Tomography (CT), general radiography, and fluoroscopy, while ensuring high-quality patient care and imaging standards.

Job Requirements

  • Education and Work Experience: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred

  • Licenses/Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): RequiredRadiologic Technologist (RT) License in the state of practice: Required (CA)Advanced Certification in Computed Tomography (CT): Required (OR & HI), Preferred (CA)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification from an approved vendor per AH policy: Required

  • Fluoroscopy License in the state of employment: Required (CA, if operating fluoroscopy equipment)

  • Venipuncture Certification: Preferred (CA & OR)

  • Facility Specific License/Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required

Essential Functions

  • Affords assessments, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care for adolescent through geriatric populations.

  • Performs Computed Tomography (CT), general radiography, and fluoroscopy procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.

  • Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.

  • Utilizes PACS and teleradiology systems to accurately transfer diagnostic images to the appropriate destination.

  • Maintains accurate patient records, imaging documentation, files, and billing information.

  • Ensures the integrity, security, and confidentiality of patient medical images and data in compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.

  • Performs routine equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance activities.

  • Maintains adequate inventory of imaging supplies.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
