Computer User Support Specialist

About the role

Opportunity Information Management Group (IMG) is seeking a highly motivated Computer User Support Specialist to join our team in Schenectady, NY. This on-site position requires a professional who brings strong technical expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Providing first-line help desk troubleshooting, response, and remediation.
• Possessing technical skills to work with end users.
• Ability to resolve issues of moderate complexity.
• Trouble ticket remediation and responding to physical troubleshooting of hardware components and equipment.
• Responsible for accomplishing routine IT tasks at the discretion of your team lead.
• Providing customer support and ensuring customer satisfaction of resolution of any IT issues in a timely manner and proper documentation for compliance and continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate Degree with two years’ experience OR High School Degree and four years’ experience.
• CompTIA A+ or similar certification with customer approval.
• DoD Top Secret or DOE Q clearance.
• Candidates will be required to take a drug test prior to working onsite and agree to random drug testing throughout tenure.

Skills

• Excellent customer support experience and soft skills to ensure end-user satisfaction.
• Strong knowledge of the English language and experience performing technical troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead small teams or projects through cross‑functional coordination/collaboration with other departments.
• Assist key stakeholders in overall project execution and find solutions through creative problem solving.
• Ability to demonstrate proven success with adaptability – willingness to evolve with technology while ensuring data accuracy standards.
