Computer Systems Architect - Mid to Expert Level (Maryland)
The Role
NSA seeks Computer Science professionals to contribute to the development and innovation of information storage, manipulation, and presentation technologies. You will work on projects that aim to set new standards for information transformation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop computer or information systems
- Engage in engineering hardware and/or software throughout the lifecycle (requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, integration, deployment/installation, and maintenance)
- Develop and implement programming solutions
- Conduct computer systems research
- Reverse engineer existing systems
- Implement and maintain computer/network security measures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with a concentration in foundational CS areas
- Relevant experience in design/development of computer or information systems
- Experience in engineering hardware and/or software over their lifecycle
- Programming and scripting experience in various languages
- Database design/development experience
- Knowledge of network protocols and hardware
- Understanding of virtualization fundamentals
- Experience with cloud architecture
- Security architecture and appliance knowledge
- Firewall and boundary device solutions/architecture expertise
- High performance computing/data center understanding
Qualifications
- Full Performance: Bachelor's degree + 3 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree + 1 year of relevant experience, or Doctoral degree and no experience
- Senior: Bachelor's degree + 6 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree + 4 years of relevant experience, or Doctoral degree + 2 years of relevant experience
- Expert: Bachelor's degree + 9 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree + 7 years of relevant experience, or Doctoral degree + 5 years of relevant experience
