About the role
The Computer Support Technician II position is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting various hardware and software systems within the organization. This role requires a high degree of interpersonal skills due to frequent personnel contact.
Responsibilities
- Inventory, document, and inspect various hardware and software computer systems.
- Affirm compliance with Company IT policies and procedures.
- Identify and recommend corrective actions for areas of non-compliance.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including desktop/laptop computers and printers.
- Install and test hardware and software on company computers.
- Deploy new computers and assist with moves to new locations.
- Clean and maintain computers, printers, and other office equipment.
- Use word processors, spreadsheets, and other applications.
- Research, order, and track parts.
- Maintain logs and files and prepare related reports to supervisors.
- Familiarity with network cable installation, RJ45 and RJ11 connections, and basic soldering/crimping procedures.
- Support manufacturing software and initiatives.
- Support internal phone system and users.
- Assist with report writing.
- Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
- One to three years previous computing technology experience, preferably with a PC and TCP/IP Networking.
- A pleasant demeanor is essential due to the high degree of personnel contact.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate information tactfully.
- Detailed hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and perform tasks with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- High School education.
Skills
- Understanding and use of word processors, spreadsheets, and other applications.
- Basic knowledge of network cable installation, RJ45 and RJ11 connections, and soldering/crimping procedures.
- Supporting manufacturing software and initiatives.
- Supporting internal phone system and users.
- Assisting with report writing.
- Performing related duties as required.
