Job Responsibilities
- Provide highest level of support for assigned SIS, including both troubleshooting and enhancing functionality.
- Develop, test and implement complex custom solutions using standard scripting languages on desktop and server computers.
- Handle common requests such as automating complex data imports and exports, including creating custom reports.
- Create or maintain systems for synchronizing data between the SIS and various other systems (e.g., Active Directory, library systems, and Special Education systems).
- Use Structured Query Language (SQL), macros, embedded languages, scripting, or complex formulae in commercial software packages to create custom solutions.
- Create and manage user experience and user interface designs for interactive data dashboard systems.
- Make decisions on routine security settings in assigned systems.
- Extract, submit and certify data to state or federal agencies (e.g., CALPADS, Civil Rights Data Collection and Perkins Grant Management System).
- Work collaboratively with vendors or other agencies to resolve SIS or related problems.
- Work collaboratively with outside agencies to share SIS data securely.
- Ensure all data sharing complies with data privacy laws.
- Train and provide work direction to staff as required.
- Serve as a technical resource to others regarding the more complex and difficult applications issues.
- Participate in the review and definition of assigned functional areas, processes and procedures regarding requirements, organization and flow of data, methods and forms.
- Provide assistance and support the more common personal computer software applications.
- Create technical and write and maintain end-user documentation.
Qualifications
- Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and three years of experience performing duties of increasing responsibilities in a computing environment.
