Computer Science / Business Teacher

About the role

The ideal candidate will create a learning environment that challenges students at all ability levels and encourages inquiry, collaboration, and creativity. Teachers will integrate technology into classroom activities, differentiate instruction, effectively utilize formative and summative assessments, use data to inform instruction, and teach computer programming courses.

Requirements

• Masters Degree preferred
• Subject areas may include computer applications, desktop publishing, and webpage design
• Certified to teach Introduction to Computer Science, Computer Science 1, and Computer Science 2

Qualifications

• Certified teacher in the state of Indiana or Instructor acceptable to Higher Learning Commission
• Required degree in area of specialty, including Computer Education, Computer Science, Business, Workplace Specialist: Computer Science or Programming, CTE: Business Services and Technology, or CTE: Business and Information Technology
• PLTW Computer Science certification preferred, including Computer Science Essentials, Computer Science Principles, Computer Science A, and/or Cybersecurity
• Ability and desire to teach is dual credit credentialed in Computer Science preferred
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
