About the role
South College's Online Campus is seeking a Hybrid Computer Science and Information Technology Adjunct to join their team. This position is hybrid remote, requiring the candidate to be present at the Knoxville Campus in Knoxville, TN at least one day a week for in-person courses, with the remaining responsibilities completed remotely.
Responsibilities
- Teach Software Development & Programming: Object-Oriented Programming, Programming in Java, Mobile App Development, Website Design/App for IT, Advanced Web Design, Secure Software Design.
- Teach Cybersecurity & Networking: Advanced Cybersecurity, Network Security, Networks and Telecommunications, Wireless Networks, Network Planning & Maintenance.
- Teach Data Science & Intelligent Systems: Data Mining, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision and Sensors, Decision Networks and Graphs.
- Teach Systems & Architecture: Computer Architecture, Systems Analysis and Design, Information Systems Design (Capstone), and Optimization of Hardware–Software Integration.
- Teach User Experience & Interface Design: User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design, Human–Computer Interaction, Usability Testing, and Interactive Prototyping focused on enhancing accessibility and engagement.
Requirements
- Evidence of a minimum of an acceptable master’s degree in the specific subject matter field (doctorate preferred) for undergraduate courses and an earned doctoral degree and satisfactory completion of 18 graduate semester hours in the subject matter field for graduate courses.
- Experience teaching similar courses at a higher education institute.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online.
