Computer Operations Analyst - Linux 2/3

Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. Applicants must be willing to work on-site. Travel is required, up to 25% of the time. No relocation assistance is available. A U.S. Government Secret level security clearance is required as a condition of continued employment.

About the Role

Northrop Grumman’s CIDO Space Operations organization is seeking a Computer Operations Analyst – Linux Systems Admin for its Chandler, AZ location. The selected candidate’s primary focus will be Linux administration support and enclave compliance activities. Strong Windows skills are also desired. This position may be filled at either level 2 or level 3 (Principal level) based on skills, experience, education, and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop computer systems specifications that address business requirements and fit with the company’s system architecture standards.
• Establish and document system parameters and formats; ensure hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinate/modify system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.
• Revise existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
• Provide technical support for computers and associated networks, including client and server hardware or software support.
• Connect clients, servers, and terminals to existing data networks.
• Instruct users in the use of hardware and networks.
• Investigate information, network, and communications needs of users and make recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.
• Assist InfoSec with DFARS and CMMC compliance responsibilities.
• Support Engineering and Manufacturing Operations off-network and lab environments, including setup, maintenance, compliance, and vulnerability remediation; support client and server domain migration.
• Provide Engineering and Manufacturing system support, including setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
• Set up and configure rack mount workstations.
• Provide server and engineering application support, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Perform network data port activation and testing.
• Lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Work after hours and weekends as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications (Level 2)

• Master’s degree with 0 years of IT experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of IT experience; OR an Associate degree with 3 years of IT experience; OR a HS Diploma/GED (or equivalent) with 4 years of IT experience.
• Linux systems administration experience (RedHat Enterprise Linux preferred).
• Must meet U.S. Government 8140 IAT level II requirements (8570 equivalent) for a Computer Operations Analyst-Linux (e.g., Security+, CND, CCNA-Security); OR ability to obtain certification within 6 months of start date.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance.

Basic Qualifications (Level 3)

• Master’s degree with 2 years of IT experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of IT experience; OR an Associate degree with 6 years of IT experience; OR a HS Diploma/GED (or equivalent) with 8 years of IT experience.
• 2 years of Linux systems administration experience (RedHat Enterprise Linux preferred).
• Must meet U.S. Government 8140 IAT level II requirements (8570 equivalent) for a Computer Operations Analyst-Linux (e.g., Security+, CND, CCNA-Security); OR ability to obtain certification within 6 months of start date.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and 5 years of Linux administration experience.
• Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.
• Two or more years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server administration in a classified enterprise environment (versions 7/8/9).
• RedHat System Administration certification(s) (e.g., RHCSA, Linux+).
• Experience with NAS storage device administration.
• Familiarity with DFARS and NIST InfoSec controls.
• Enterprise-level storage concepts, including commonly used RAID levels.
• RedHat Satellite Server configuration and usage experience.
• Solid understanding of remediating security vulnerabilities; experience hardening RedHat systems in accordance with RMF and STIGs.
• Experience with host-based firewall implementations and configuration (RedHat “iptables”).
• Experience building custom “rpm” software packages for RedHat platforms.
• Solid writing skills and use of Wiki pages and SharePoint sites for documentation.
• Currently valid Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar security certification.
• Experience with Ansible and Bash scripting.
• Strong understanding of Linux terminal and programs.
• Strong troubleshooting and independent research skills.
• Ability to work independently and appropriately escalate issues to leadership.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations, hardware, software, etc.
• Superior customer service and delivery; maintains composure in difficult situations.
• Demonstrates personal integrity and high ethical standards in customer and internal relationships.
• Ability to quickly master unfamiliar information, tasks, and situations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive mission-critical needs.
• Strong understanding of networking principles (e.g., OSI model).
• Experience with engineering applications.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Active Secret level security clearance is a plus.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 – $108,100.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 – $134,200.00

The above salary ranges represent general guidelines. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
