Computer Network Architect, Journeyman
About the Role
Provide DevSecOps and Agile IT support services for operational mission support for the systems under the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Information Systems Division (ISD) portfolio.
Install, configure, and support an organization's Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
Performs a variety of network engineering tasks which are broad in nature and are concerned with the design and implementation of integrated networks, including personal, hardware, software, and support facilities and/or equipment. Installs, configures, and maintains software in a client/server networked environment. Installs LANs as well as WANs.
- Assists in providing technical documentation to support installation activities.
- Assists with customer on-site surveys.
- Participates in the preparation of drawings and reports documenting and recording on-site activities.
- Interfaces with customers, end users, and team members for site activities as directed.
- Performs systems checkout/test and introductory training as required.
- Perform trips to customer sites for installations, surveys, and audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, or related field, or at minimum an IT Certification. Two years' experience is equivalent to one year of education.
- Two years of performing security remediation to systems with vulnerabilities based on security scans.
- Two years of experience designing, analyzing, evaluating, configuring, troubleshooting, and implementing network solutions.
- One year of experience in an Agile DevSecOps software and engineering environment and methodologies.
- One year of experience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket or equivalent.
- Secret Clearance.
