Computer Engineer, Embedded Hardware Test

About the role

This position is for a Software Engineer on the Common Weapon Launcher and Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator Hardware Test Team. The role involves designing and developing software and firmware supporting the U.S. Navy's platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop C applications interfacing directly with custom electronics
• Create and implement network interfaces between firmware and software
• Maintain and troubleshoot existing firmware and software
• Review and develop test procedures
• Work across teams to design and improve interfaces
• Participate in peer reviews
• Perform unit testing and support integration and test activities

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field
• 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience
• Agile experience preferred

Qualifications

• Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time from hire
• U.S. citizenship is required

Skills

• A foundational understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theories
• Familiarity with the software development process from academic or professional experience
• Experience with C and other programming languages
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Linux and FPGAs
• An interest in real-time systems or low-latency data management
• Familiarity with using Agile processes
• Familiarity with Network communication
• Familiarity with NI LabWindows
• A desire to learn and grow your technical skills

USD $110,241.00/Yr. - USD $122,298.00/Yr.
