About the role

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Computed Tomography Technologist II (CT) for their Computed Tomography department. This role involves operating all CT scanners independently, performing all scanning protocols without assistance, and operating related equipment. The CT Tech II assists physicians as needed to complete diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages, coordinates patient flow, and produces quality images both efficiently and safely. The position requires the ability to work independently, complete competencies for all CT exams and protocols, and float to other CT scanners as workflow dictates.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all CT scanners independently.
  • Perform all scanning protocols without assistance.
  • Operate other related equipment and assist physicians with diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures.
  • Coordinate patient flow and produce high-quality images efficiently and safely.
  • Complete competencies for all CT exams and protocols.
  • Float to other CT scanners as workflow requires.
  • Assist and mentor new CT technologists.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited radiologic technologist program.
  • Valid California Radiologic Technologist license.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • ARRT registered in Computed Tomography.
  • Venipuncture certification.
  • Basic skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Competency sign-off on all skills and completion of competency checklists.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience performing CT exams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months experience performing CT exams at a 500+ bed, Level 1 trauma hospital.

Pay

Pay for non-physician positions is determined based on related years of experience and internal equity. Eligible employees may receive additional compensation, including shift differentials, on-call pay, incentive pay, and bonus opportunities where applicable. Manager and above positions may participate in Cottage Health’s annual management incentive program.
