Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

About the role

Performs diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images. Produces quality computed tomography exam images and exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides for patient care and initiates life support measure as necessary.
• Interacts effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff, and healthcare workers.
• Possesses the skills and knowledge to operate CT equipment to produce quality CT scans as well as the ability to perform related procedures and protocols.
• Has the ability to learn and utilize new technology as well as orient new employees.
• Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to further improve their personalized treatment and care.
• On a continuum, the CT Technologist works to develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status. Works well with all age groups.
• Sanford Rural Network Facilities sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform diagnostic radiology procedures.
• Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and aware of general radiology protocols.
• May perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT) accredited program is required.
• Computerized Tomography (CT) training or experience preferred.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required at the time of hire.
• Per Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) and American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation requirements, CT certification obtained within two years is preferred.
• If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required.
• If working in Aberdeen, South Dakota (SD), CT certification is required within 24 months of hire.
• In the state of Iowa, all technologists must have a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health in order to practice in the state of Iowa.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and I.V. certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.

Pay

Salary Range: $30.60 - $46.50. This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus up to $20,000!

Schedule

8 Hours - Day Shifts with start times that flex between 6:30 am - 8:30 am. Minimal call. Weekend rotation of approximately every 6th weekend. Full time, 36.00 hours weekly.
