Computational STEM Researcher - AI Expert

About the role

We are looking for a STEM Researcher in computational fields to design and evaluate research tasks on a contract basis. This is a remote position requiring a 35-hour weekly commitment.

Responsibilities

• Design tasks by turning everyday research skills into engaging, multi-step tasks.
• Author solutions using Python and notebooks, ensuring rigor and precision.
• Define criteria for sound scientific reasoning versus superficial reasoning.
• Evaluate models by reviewing attempts and identifying immediate mistakes.
• Work as a team to ensure consistent and accurate evaluations.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in a STEM field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ years in an active research role.
• Experience with Python-based analysis, simulation, or data pipelines.
• Strong grounding in experimental design and hypothesis testing.
• Familiarity with Git, IDEs, and notebook environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in AI training, model evaluation, or benchmark/task authoring (preferred).
• High attention to detail and creativity in task design.

Pay

$60–$90/hour
