Computational Modeling of Aviation Systems
About the role
Develop novel technologies for next-generation Army aviation platforms, including both manned and unmanned systems. Focus on aerodynamics, acoustics, structural dynamics, and flight controls, as well as modeling and simulation techniques ranging from low to high fidelity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze computational models for aerodynamic, acoustic, structural, and flight control systems.
- Utilize both physics-based and data-driven methods for system modeling.
- Explore and implement design methodologies for new technologies.
- Incorporate complex physics models at a low computational cost for early design stages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in relevant fields such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Strong background in computational modeling and simulation.
- Experience with aerodynamics, acoustics, structural dynamics, and flight controls.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
- Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Experience with data analysis and machine learning techniques.
