Interceptor Modeling and Simulation

About the role

Full‑time position in Huntsville, AL requiring an active Secret clearance. The role involves developing, maintaining, and integrating mathematical‑based modeling and simulation tools for Missile Defense System analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and integrate specialized mathematical‑based modeling and simulation.
• Analyze results of mathematical modeling.
• Drive end‑to‑end performance analysis of Missile Defense System elements.
• Participate in development, updating, and benchmarking/anchoring of M&S tools to support system analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or physics.
• 5‑20 years’ experience in an engineering classification.
• Demonstrated technical background in numerical modeling and simulation.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of building and/or analyzing M&S for one‑or‑more missile defense‑related system types (EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, kill vehicles, missiles/interceptors, threats & countermeasures, target discrimination, or command and control – e.g., C3I, C4I).
• Possess simulation software development experience.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Capable of working in focused teams or as an independent individual contributor.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic/non‑ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub‑orbital mechanics, etc.).
• Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems (aero‑maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper‑glide, countermeasures, etc.).
• Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground‑based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control, C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, etc.).
• Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems.
• Ability to think critically to develop and capture concepts in technical papers, presentations, and discussions.
