Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analyst

U.S. Citizenship is required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance required. Candidate must be SAP and SCI program eligible.

About the role

Toyon is seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analyst to join a team in modeling reentry and hypersonic bodies. This position requires a strong background in fluid dynamics and numerical methods. The CFD Analyst will be responsible for providing high-quality analysis to inform important customer decisions.

Responsibilities

• Use commercial and Toyon developed CFD codes to build grids, perform simulations, and analyze results
• Develop and automate analysis workflows using Python to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Compile and present analysis results
• Work in a collaborative environment to improve modeling capabilities

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with a focus on computational modeling
• 3 or more years of relevant technical experience (thesis work included)
• Fundamental understanding of fluid dynamics and numerical methods for ODEs and PDEs
• Strong proficiency in Python or MATLAB for simulation automation and data analysis
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Pay

The annual pay range for this position is $130,000 to $210,000. The posted pay range values provide guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate’s education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
