About the role
Muse Freight is seeking a Finance Analyst to evaluate customer creditworthiness, monitor accounts receivable, and provide financial analysis to support business decisions. This hybrid role offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for career growth.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new and existing customers to determine creditworthiness and appropriate credit terms
- Review credit applications, financial statements, payment history, credit reports, trade references, and other relevant information
- Partner with sales and management on higher-risk accounts and significant credit decisions
- Monitor accounts receivable aging, past-due balances, DSO, credit utilization, and other credit-related KPIs
- Maintain accurate documentation supporting credit decisions and account reviews
- Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Prepare recurring financial and management reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Track actual financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods
- Assist leadership with evaluating investments, pricing decisions, customer profitability, and other business opportunities
- Partner with management to evaluate business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency
- Identify areas where costs can be reduced or processes improved without negatively affecting operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting
- Ability to create processes and conceptualize
- Freight experience strongly preferred
